Petteril Bank Community School is situated at the heart of the Petteril Bank estate in South Carlisle. We are a happy, friendly school with small classes and a real family feel; our local community plays a central role in the regeneration of our school and the school building. Not only do we have a fantastic new facility to be proud of but we can also be proud of our achievements over recent years, which have showed a steady improvement in our teaching and learning right across the curriculum and the results we have been achieving.
Much has happened at our school over the past 12 months, our 1.3 million building project is recently completed and we can now offer a wide range of facilities for the Petteril Bank community, including: a Youth and Family Wing, mothers and toddlers rooms, a meeting room, community café a large shared hall, a CDC and a neighbourhood Nursery. The Surestart Carlisle South programme is now based within the school and offers a wide range of support for families throughout the area.
The school passed its first Ofsted inspection back in February 2003 and since then our results and the value added that we give our pupils have continued to improve. We pride ourselves on the whole school ownership of the school’s policies and ethos and recognise the central part parents, staff, children and the community play in providing the very best for our pupils. |
We believe learning should be fun and therefore our school philosophy is to enable our children to receive a rich, varied and broad curriculum, which enables them to learn in a relevant and interesting environment.
“At Petteril Bank School we create a safe learning environment where we encourage everybody to be the best they can be” |
