Petteril Bank Community School
Years 5 & 6our curriculum see us in action

Within Year 5 & 6 we develop a harmonious classroom where children are well motivated, feel valued and develop their self esteem through a range of strategies. We are involved in a number of projects which provide additional funded opportunities for children and staff. The class is well organised and the children have clear, high expectations and are always involved in their own learning and assessment.

We learn to work as a team - listening and supporting each other. Most importantly the children learn to have a sense of humour and to make their learning FUN!

In the last few years we have had successful improvements in the SAT’s results and indeed are in the top 5% of value added nationally.  Central to this is the philosophy that we should provide a variety of opportunities for all and ensure that there is a breadth to the curriculum which includes different learning styles, develops creativity, is inclusive and most importantly that school is an enjoyable experience for everyone. All children must be nurtured and provided with opportunities for differentiated learning that are equal for all.
